A unit in Old Street Station has been transformed into a hub of creativity for the Tate Pop-Up, the first of a number of temporary projects taking place in the next few months to liven up those previously miserable station tunnels. The Tate Gallery is one of the new group of companies to open a popup shop at Old Street Underground Station in an initiative curated by Appear Here.

During the next week Tate will sell items from its gallery shops, in addition to organising live events including a Matisse-inspired paper workshop, a screening of ‘Helvetica’, and a talk covering women, publishing and autonomy. A selection of prints and local publications are also available to buy, and there’s a Matisse-themed window installation by Gumbo Architecture & PAPER Collective.
