30 July 2014

If you fancy getting cultural for absolutely nothing then the Institute of Contemporary Arts (ICA) have done you a favour. To coincide with Frieze London, the ICA will be running a series of fantastic events at The Old Selfridges Hotel from 14 – 18 October 2014.

Isabel Lewis, Korakrit Arunanondchai, NTS Radio, Siobhan Davies Dance and Rhizome are all involved in the project which will encompass a plethora of different arts from music, art and dance to discussion, with different events taking place each day.

Kicking off the programme will be Brooklyn-based dance artist Isabel Lewis, who will host a series of ‘occasions’ conjuring the ancient Greek symposium where philosophising, drinking and the erotic were inseparable.

On Thursday evening, New York-based artist Korakrit Arunanondchai, will be participating in the ICA exhibition ‘Beware Wet Paint’ to present an evening performance.

On Friday night, the focus will be music, with presented in collaboration with ICA’s Associate Artists, NTS Radio. Saturday will see Siobhan Davies Dance present the live movement installation ‘Table of Contents’.

From 15th October, a series of panel discussions will focus on contemporary art and the politics of digital circulation, questioning how power and value accrue around art on the internet and how artists work within and against these conditions.

This live programme will occupy the first floor of The Old Selfridges Hotel, a cavernous industrial raw space, situated on Orchard Street directly above the Selfridges Food Hall.

All events are free, but there will be a limited allocation of tickets available on the day, we recommend booking via the ICA website to make sure you don’t miss out on your favourite bits or call the ICA Box Office +44 (0)20 7930 3647 Textphone +44 (0)20 7839 0737.
