Iconic denim brand Wrangler, were the first to ever create flared denim. Now the all American brand are bringing it back to their Spring/Summer 2012 collection with three gorgeous new cuts.

‘Get Your Edge Back’ is Wrangler’s SS12 line for men and women full of the brand’s signature details and styles. Reclaiming their authenticity in denim, these designs and detailing reflect a brand from a heritage that knows its denim.

The trend is for cleaner jeans and for stripes. Celebrating what it stands for, not only genuine denim woven on shuttle looms, but 1970s flares, Broken Twill and the 7 icons.

Developing the ‘Get Your Edge Back’ theme, the edges of jeans, shirts, jackets and dresses (plackets, cuffs, seams) are imaginatively detailed. Fashionistas should look for detailing around seams, striped tops and selvedge on shirt plackets. The theme continues into accessories, with white stripes across indigo bags, and selvedge on denim-leather belts and wallets.

The flare cuts will be launched in three styles for women. Cary – a regular flared jean, Bryn – a trumpet flare: skinny-fit thighs contrast with wide bell bottoms and Bethany – the loose flare; cut like a trouser at the top and quite wide from the thigh down, with a centre crease. For guys, look out for Evan – cut with a fuller rise and regular-slim leg.

Theo van Den Hoff, vice-president product at Wrangler said: “Wrangler celebrates selvedge this season. Denim looks go cleaner, more heritage inspired, with selvedge denim the hero
- at an accessible price. Indigo is a real icon colour, and workwear comes through in strong, authentic details. The SS12 collection shows Wrangler being true to itself: the best Western shirt, flares, clean finishes, robust and practical details – executed with style.”

To celebrate going back to their roots, Wrangler has developed a brand new interactive website. Get a sneak preview right here:
