STANDON CALLING returns to its stunning country manor grounds for a tenth anniversary that promises to excite with a kaleidoscope of established and emerging talent.
Headlining the illustrious Sunday night slot are Basement Jaxx with eclectic brilliance throughout the weekend from a huge diversity of artists including Little Dragon, The Dandy Warhols, The Magic Numbers, Kwabs, The Goat Roper Rodeo, Cuban Brothers and Roots Manuva.
The three-day extravaganza, located just 40 minutes north of London in the heart of the British countryside, has a Western sci-fi theme this year where revellers can unleash their inner cosmic cowboy with full on fancy dress or take a more casual approach with a hat and pony ride out in the wagon park.
Standon Calling has always been as much about the night as the day and after the live music, it takes full advantage of a 5am licence with DJs, dancers and VJs taking over The Cowshed nightclub as well as homemade, micro-venues dotted over the fields.
What started out ten years ago as a birthday BBQ and DJs with a handful of friends has become the perfect summer escape for festival-goers, offering an innovative new day-to-night programme that guarantees a myriad of hedonistic surprises for when the sun goes down.
Founder and booker Alex Trenchard told us that this special edition of Standon Calling is going to be big: “We’re building a full on town in the centre, we’re investing more in the creatives this year so that people really feel like they’re entering a different world.”
Whether taking a dip in Standon’s famous outdoor heated swimming pool, partaking in the amusing annual dog show, joining the Carnivale procession armed in fancy dress or dancing till dawn in the cowshed, Standon Calling has earned its place as the perfect place for friends, families and all manner of folk to enjoy a truly wonderful three-day experience.
